About Yum!

Yum! is obviously my fanlisting collective. It houses all the fanlistings I am currently owning (since I love making fanlistings) and joined. The idea of replacing the bare list only with a collective site was inspired by the many fanlisting collectives all around the Net.

I started making fanlistings in late 2003 and for unknown reasons, I can't seem to figure out the very first fanlisting I made (but most definitely it was approved by TFL). Around 2004, I stopped making them in order for me to focus on my studies more. It was such a grief for me to let go of my fanlistings, but I had to. Happily, in the midst of June, 2006, after purchasing a top-level domain and hosting, I continued my most sought-after hobby. Yum! was then born.

"Why Yum!?" I've heard that question a couple of times from my best friend recently and I couldn't seem to give him an exact answer. Instead of the so-used fan, I decided to give it a subdomain that's equally memorable but more attractive. And yeah, it was yum, an expression used to describe the feeling of devouring delicious foods, and in this case, devouring my yummy domain fruitshakes.net (I hope you did get the point!).

About the Webby

Thanks for your interest in learning more about me! My name is Bernie, and I am a present college senior at the University of the East taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. I am a pure Filipina, a very proud one, born and currently living in Metro Manila, Philippines.

I spend half of my ordinary day using the computer (the other half I spend at school). Researching, reading and writing prose, watching K-Dramas, all of them are done through the computer and the Internet.

I started developing my designing skills way back when I was in my first year of high school (I was 13 then) for my Mom's personal website that contained her artworks (it wasn't so pretty that time since I was just starting). The next project I did was a fansite which I entitled "Smallville Gateway" for my favorite American TV show Smallville. I discovered some of the ins-and-outs of Web designing while managing this fansite. Other projects followed and soon enough, I teamed up with my brother for a Web designing firm which we named Project iX Design Studios. Presently, I'm working as a freelance Web designer.
